I am doing a research paper on the archetype of the hero and the quest and need to know what the threshold crossing is in both movies.. I just need to know it about their decisions in actually fighting the bad guys, not becoming batman or spider-man.

In Batman: The Dark Knight Returns they keep mentioning Jason. I think he died and Batman feels very sad about that. Its actually the second time I read it but i didn’t remember that name and know I don’t know who he is. If you know what I am talking about please tell me. Thanks!
