Rather than buying the whole back-issue run, get the trade paperbacks that have the story arcs in them, e.g. Hush, The Long Halloween, Knightfall, etc. Good reading in there.

you can start RIGHT NOW with Batman R.I.P. that started last week. it runs on The Batman comic book.
or you can check out old archived storylines like The Long Halloween.
